Blend Youth Project

Blend Youth Project

The Youth Work Department of Valley CIDS is well established and varied, coming under the branding of ‘Blend Youth Project’.

We operate from a number of delivery centres, including at Ripley, Heanor, Swanwick, Jacksdale and Chesterfield.

Ethos, Values & Outcomes

Blend Youth Project aims to provide spaces, supportive relationships and opportunities in which young people experience our core values of Belonging, Hope, Value, Compassionate Care & Inclusion.

Here they can enjoy activities and access services designed to improve their leisure time opportunities, promote their health & quality of life, reduce their risk of getting involved in alcohol/drug misuse, crime & anti-social behaviour and promote their economic well-being.

Young people have access to a range of activities and support services including daily drop-in provision, cookery/healthy-eating workshops, sexual health and relationships advice drop-ins, music lessons, counselling provision, traversing wall sessions and art workshops.

We also work closely with a range of local agencies and schools in providing mentoring support, alternative education projects and personal development programmes for young people who are facing difficulties or barriers to succeeding in mainstream education.
