On the morning of Friday 21st February 2014, local teddy bears and children gathered at Simmondley Pre-school to have a picnic and listen to children's stories...

The event was organised by the brilliant people at the Lighthouse Charity Shop in Glossop, and £42.45 was raised from the sale of books and teddy bears (some of them needed new homes to go to after the picnic) after the stories had been told.

The Picnic was even featured in the local paper - http://www.buxtonadvertiser.co.uk/news/local/picnic-time-for-glossop-teddy-bears-1-6466094#.UxTAzq8M804.facebook

The Lighthouse Charity Shop Manager, Hannah, said that a big thank you needs to go to Simmondley Pre-school for allowing the use of their building (it was perfect for the event), and to all of the Lighthouse Charity Shop volunteers - again, another event that Louise and I couldn't do without them - and especially Tasha for helping to run the picnic, and Marie, Jason, Erin and Tom for running the shop.

Watch this space for the next event happening at Easter...
