Happy New Year.

Well, we had a slightly late white Christmas here in Derbyshire, and it was great to hear the stories of so many children enjoying the snow - even if some parents did not feel the same!

Life over Christmas and New Year continues, and this New Year we as a charity continue to plan to be good news to all the children, young people and families that we support.

Certainly for those families that met at our Compass site in Chesterfield their Christmas day was fantastic. I hope to bring some more news and pictures of the day.

Each week I am privileged to see God at work, and this first week back in January has been no exception. At our Zest Club in Riddings, we have been praying for new workers as the team changed over the Christmas holidays. A big thank you to Jo, Val and Melissa for running and building up the Zest Club over recent years. Anyway, all I can say is that on Tuesday morning I drove over the dark, foggy hills of the wonderful Peak District to join in with the new Zest team at Riddings.

This New Year seeing God's hand involved in the Zest team has been a reminder to me to trust God, especially when I can't solve the situation. There will, I am sure, be many situations that as individuals and as Valley CIDS we need to trust God for and then see his answers.

Happy New Year and thank you for all you hard work in supporting Valley CIDS.
