Lighthouse Charity Shops

Our shops sell a wide range of high quality goods including furniture, clothes, bric-a-brac, books and electrical items. We welcome donations and our staff will be more than happy to arrange a collection for larger items. We currently operate three vans used for the collection and delivery of larger goods which also offer the opportunity to become a volunteer driver and/or driver’s mate.

Each Lighthouse shop offers a great opportunity for voluntary work and training. Volunteers currently work in our shops from as little as a couple of hours a week up to a few days a week. The shops are open six days a week, Monday to Saturday, 9.30am – 4.30pm

Each shop is staffed by two managers working 21 hours a week each on a job share basis, who in turn are supported by volunteers. We work closely with local Job Centres and the New Deal Scheme who have assisted us in recruiting new staff, and providing training and volunteering opportunities for local people.
